Condenser Unit Supports

The Roof-Pro PF range has been developed in a number of standard and bespoke designs to support external condenser units including smaller DX units and also larger VRV/VRF systems. The PF range has been designed to ensure maximum wind stability taking into account the weight and height of the units. Load management is always a key factor in our designs, as these systems can weigh up to several hundred kilograms individually and even more when combined.

For larger installations of multiple units the correct assessment of the roof's loading parameters in conjunction with the project architect and structural engineer still needs to be made so that the correct support method is used. We have over 15 years experience of supporting services and can advise the project team on the most appropriate support method and layout.

For all our supports we recommend a minimum building clearance to allow for future roof maintenance under the units, but we would also highlight the need to raise all the pipework/cable runs clear of the roof finishes as well. We have seen many installations fail to deliver our systems full benefits due to pipework being run at low level, and hence make future roof maintenance impossible without expensive decommissioning of services. It may seem like a cost saving exercise on installation, but it has a much bigger cost implication when roof maintenance is required by the building owner.
