Completed: 2001
Roof finish: Felt
Typical example showing the removal of a leg and base assembly
using Roof-Pro’s Extending Jack Leg.
Spring tongues located in the end of the Extending Jack Leg
top beam are positioned into the end of the 50mm x 50mm galvanised
box section of the PF support frame, once inserted they are
locked-off using twin T- bolts. The base / leg is then adjusted
down to the roof to take up the pressure being imposed on the
existing leg. The frame base / leg can then be easily removed
simply by unbolting the gusset bracket bolts. Once removed
the weatherproofing membrane can be accessed to allow either
repair or renewal. If the roof datum increase in future (as
a result of extra insulation being installed), there is more
than sufficient adjustment of the threaded stud in each leg.
The building services equipment did not have to be decommissioned,
costs were therefore kept to a minimum and there was no disruption
for the building owner
