The client would not permit traditional structural supports
as this would have involved a number of penetrations coming
through the aluminium weatherproofing. Instead, Roof Pro technical
sales were asked to put forward alternative proposals to the
architects and building services consultants. Although the
flat roof has a steep 5degree fall, Roof Pro have provided
a range of products designed to position external freestanding
support frame bases in the troughs directly above the purlins.
RP technical support assisted in all aspects of design. The
size of some ductwork is 2500 x 2500mm, wind load was therefore
a critical factor and Roof Pro provided technical assistance
to the design & construction and structural engineer teams.
The aluminium roof is fixed to the purlins using fully weather
tight eyebolts, ductwork supports have been strapped to the
eyebolts using steel rope. Roof Pro also supplied custom double
thickness rubber isolation mats to avoid putting pressure directly
onto the roof fixing bolts.
