Project: Supermarket
Location: Poole, Dorset
Completion Date: 2006
Roof Finish: Corus Kalzip standing seam roof
Roof-Pro Products: Access walkway secured by S5! clamps & TAB base
As part of a supermarket development in Poole Harbour Roof-Pro were approached by the main contractor to find a solution for supporting a step down rooftop walkway for worker maintenance access to the roof.
The access platform was engineered by our in-house design team to a target height of 350mm providing safe passage from the building exit, along the roof via a 1561 mm grid landing and down to the roof surface by two bull nose threaded steps. The Access platform was designed for compliance with BS 5395 incorporating twin handrails and kick plates whilst incorporating hot dip galvanised treatment for longevity.

As with all Roof-Pro System designs, the project conformed to our principle of non penetration of the roofs waterproofing. This was achieved at the junction with the building exit by a TAB support base and 16no. S5!-Z clamps dispersed over four points.
The Roof-Pro system provided the client and the contractors with an engineered access solution that is fabricated off site and designed for easy installation without invalidating the roofs warranty.
